The Vic Viper is a fighter jet prototype designed to fight the WORMs head-on, equipped with enough firepower to single-handedly obliterate even the strongest enemies. It also has pilots and options.
Its design is based on the spaceship of the same name that is prominently featured in Konami's Gradius scrolling shooter video game franchise, where it often appears as the jet controlled by the player.
